About | Acting

Andrew Shapiro (he/him) was raised in the small New England town of Dracut, Massachusetts. He was raised by a Jewish father and Catholic mother, being brought up in the synagogue and going to Hebrew school when he was a kid. His bright and playful imagination became the backing for why he signed up for a youth theatre group when he was 7 years old. Since then, he has fallen in love with the stage and performing. In high school, he was a part of the premier award winning theatre company “Peacock Players” where he was featured in productions such as “Tuck Everlasting” and “Newsies”, which both were awarded Best Youth Production of New Hampshire in 2018 and 2019 respectively. In 2019, he was nominated for Best Youth Actor at the NHTA (New Hampshire Theatre awards) for his role as the Mad Hatter in “Alice in Wonderland”. He also became the 2020 state Poet Laureate runner up of Massachusetts through “Poetry Out Loud”, a national poetry recitation competition for high school students.

In 2021, Andrew attended Fordham University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in 2025. There, he studied with prominent actors such as Tina Benko, Tonya Pinkins, Destiny Lilly, Andrea Harring, and many more. Andrew often took on various musical roles as well as acting onstage, being a part of the orchestra and the cast in many productions like Paual Vogel’s “Indecent” in 2022 and Bertolt Brecht’s “The Threepenny Opera” in 2025. When he works on a project, he gives 110% and nothing less. Through his work, Andrew values facilitating a performance to speak with a unique identity composed of the members of the production where all voices are just as important. His pursuit of uplifting others' voices is what makes him stand out as a reactive and collaborative performer. In addition to his acting, Andrew is a compassionate musician, educator, and friend. He spends time sharing a laugh with his friends, meeting strangers on airplanes, and gushing about his passion for jazz or theatre to anyone who’s interested. As an educator, he values the importance of community and opportunity and strives to provide that for whoever he works with.
